The thingהַדָּבָרwas rightוַיִּישַׁרin the eyesבְּעֵינֵיof the kingהַמֶּלֶךְand in the eyesוּבְעֵינֵיof allכָּלthe assembly.הַקָּהָל
They establishedוַיַּעֲמִידוּa word:דָבָרto sendלְהַעֲבִירa proclamationקוֹלthrough allבְּכָלIsrael,יִשְׂרָאֵלfrom Beershebaמִבְּאֵר שֶׁבַעtoוְעַדDan,דָּןto comeלָבוֹאto celebrateלַעֲשׂוֹתthe Passoverפֶּסַחto YHWH,לַיהוָהthe Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלin Jerusalem;בִּירוּשָׁלִָםforכִּיthey had notלֹאcelebrated itעָשׂוּin great numbersלָרֹבasכַּit is written.כָּתוּב

Forכִּיwhen you returnבְשׁוּבְכֶםto YHWH,עַל יְהוָהyour brothersאֲחֵיכֶםand your sonsוּבְנֵיכֶםwill find mercyלְרַחֲמִיםbeforeלִפְנֵיtheir captorsשׁוֹבֵיהֶםand returnוְלָשׁוּבto thisהַזֹּאתland;לָאָרֶץforכִּיYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֵיכֶםis graciousחַנּוּןand merciful,וְרַחוּםand he will notוְלֹאturn awayיָסִירhis faceפָּנִיםfrom youמִכֶּםifאִםyou returnתָּשׁוּבוּto him.”אֵלָיו

Onlyאַךְsome menאֲנָשִׁיםof Asherמֵאָשֵׁרand Manassehוּמְנַשֶּׁהand Zebulunוּמִזְּבֻלוּןhumbled themselvesנִכְנְעוּand cameוַיָּבֹאוּto Jerusalem.לִירוּשָׁלִָם

They aroseוַיָּקֻמוּand removedוַיָּסִירוּthe altarsאֶת הַמִּזְבְּחוֹתthatאֲשֶׁרwere in Jerusalem,בִּירוּשָׁלִָםand allוְאֵת כָּלthe incense altarsהַמְקַטְּרוֹתthey removedהֵסִירוּand threw themוַיַּשְׁלִיכוּinto the brookלְנַחַלKidron.קִדְרוֹן

They stoodוַיַּעַמְדוּat their postעַל עָמְדָםaccording to their rule,כְּמִשְׁפָּטָםaccording to the lawכְּתוֹרַתof Mosesמֹשֶׁהthe manאִישׁof Elohim;הָאֱלֹהִיםthe priestsהַכֹּהֲנִיםwere splashingזֹרְקִיםthe bloodאֶת הַדָּםreceived from the handמִיַּדof the Levites.הַלְוִיִּם
Forכִּיmanyרַבַּתin the assemblyבַּקָּהָלwere those whoאֲשֶׁרhad notלֹאsanctified themselves;הִתְקַדָּשׁוּso the Levitesוְהַלְוִיִּםwere in charge ofעַלthe slaughterשְׁחִיטַתof the Passover lambsהַפְּסָחִיםfor everyoneלְכֹלwho was notלֹאclean,טָהוֹרto sanctify themלְהַקְדִּישׁto YHWH.לַיהוָה
Forכִּיthe majorityמַרְבִּיתof the people,הָעָםmanyרַבַּתfrom Ephraimמֵאֶפְרַיִםand Manasseh,וּמְנַשֶּׁהIssacharיִשָּׂשכָרand Zebulun,וּזְבֻלוּןhad notלֹאcleansed themselves,הִטֶּהָרוּyetכִּיthey ateאָכְלוּthe Passoverאֶת הַפֶּסַחnotבְּלֹאasכַit is written.כָּתוּבButכִּיHezekiahיְחִזְקִיָּהוּprayedהִתְפַּלֵּלfor them,עֲלֵיהֶםsaying,לֵאמֹר“May YHWH,יְהוָהthe good one,הַטּוֹבmake expiationיְכַפֵּרforבְּעַד
everyone whoכָּלhas setהֵכִיןhis heartלְבָבוֹto seekלִדְרוֹשׁElohim,הָאֱלֹהִיםYHWH,יְהוָהthe Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof his fathers,אֲבוֹתָיוeven though it isוְnotלֹאaccording to the purityכְּטָהֳרַתof the sanctuary.”הַקֹּדֶשׁ

Hezekiahיְחִזְקִיָּהוּspokeוַיְדַבֵּרto the heartעַל לֵבof allכָּלthe Levitesהַלְוִיִּםwho showedהַמַּשְׂכִּילִיםgoodטוֹבinsightשֵׂכֶלin the service of YHWH.לַיהוָהAnd they ateוַיֹּאכְלוּwhat belonged to the appointed feastאֶת הַמּוֹעֵדthe sevenשִׁבְעַתdays,הַיָּמִיםsacrificingמְזַבְּחִיםsacrificesזִבְחֵיof peaceשְׁלָמִיםand giving thanksוּמִתְוַדִּיםto YHWH,לַיהוָהthe Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof their fathers.אֲבוֹתֵיהֶם

Allכָּלthe assemblyקְהַלof Judahיְהוּדָהrejoiced,וַיִּשְׂמְחוּand the priestsוְהַכֹּהֲנִיםand the Levites,וְהַלְוִיִּםand allוְכָלthe assemblyהַקָּהָלthat cameהַבָּאִיםfrom Israel,מִיִּשְׂרָאֵלand the resident aliensוְהַגֵּרִיםwho cameהַבָּאִיםfrom the landמֵאֶרֶץof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלand those who livedוְהַיּוֹשְׁבִיםin Judah.בִּיהוּדָה
There wasוַתְּהִיgreatגְדוֹלָהjoyשִׂמְחָהin Jerusalem,בִּירוּשָׁלִָםforכִּיsince the daysמִימֵיof Solomonשְׁלֹמֹהsonבֶןof David,דָּוִידkingמֶלֶךְof Israel,יִשְׂרָאֵלthere had been nothingלֹאlike thisכָזֹאתin Jerusalem.בִּירוּשָׁלִָם
Then the priests,וַ הַכֹּהֲנִיםthe Levites,הַלְוִיִּםaroseיָּקֻמוּand blessedוַיְבָרֲכוּthe people,אֶת הָעָםand their voiceוַ בְּקוֹלָםwas heard,יִּשָּׁמַעand their prayerוַ תְפִלָּתָםcameתָּבוֹאto his holyקָדְשׁוֹdwelling,לִמְעוֹןto the heavens.לַשָּׁמָיִם
