And it shall be,וְהָיָהwhenכִיallכָּלtheseהָאֵלֶּהthingsהַדְּבָרִיםcomeיָבֹאוּupon you,עָלֶיךָthe blessingהַבְּרָכָהand the curseוְהַקְּלָלָהthatאֲשֶׁרI have setנָתַתִּיbefore you,לְפָנֶיךָand you take them backוַהֲשֵׁבֹתָtoאֶלyour heartלְבָבֶךָamong allבְּכָלthe nationsהַגּוֹיִםwhereאֲשֶׁר שָׁמָּהYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָhas banished you,הִדִּיחֲךָ
and you returnוְשַׁבְתָּtoעַדYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָand listenוְשָׁמַעְתָּto his voiceבְקֹלוֹaccording to allכְּכֹלthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commanding youמְצַוְּךָtoday,הַיּוֹםyouאַתָּהand your sons,וּבָנֶיךָwith allבְּכָלyour heartלְבָבְךָand with allוּבְכָלyour soul,נַפְשֶׁךָ
then YHWHוְ יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwill restoreשָׁבyour captivityשְׁבוּתְךָand have mercy on you,וְרִחֲמֶךָand he will gather youוְ וְקִבֶּצְךָagainשָׁבfrom allמִכָּלthe peoplesהָעַמִּיםwhereאֲשֶׁר שָׁמָּהYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָhas scattered you.הֱפִיצְךָ
Ifאִםyour banished onesנִדַּחֲךָareיִהְיֶהat the endבִּקְצֵהof the heavens,הַשָּׁמָיִםfrom thereמִשָּׁםYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwill gather you,יְקַבֶּצְךָand from thereוּמִשָּׁםhe will take you.יִקָּחֶךָ
And YHWHוֶ יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwill bring youהֱבִיאֲךָintoאֶלthe landהָאָרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרyour fathersאֲבֹתֶיךָpossessed,יָרְשׁוּand you will possess it;וִירִשְׁתָּהּand he will do you goodוְהֵיטִבְךָand multiply youוְהִרְבְּךָmore than your fathers.מֵאֲבֹתֶיךָ
And YHWHוּ יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwill circumciseמָלyour heartלְבָבְךָand the heartוְ לְבַבof your offspring,זַרְעֶךָto loveלְאַהֲבָהYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwith allבְּכָלyour heartלְבָבְךָand with allוּבְכָלyour soul,נַפְשְׁךָso thatלְמַעַןyou may live.חַיֶּיךָ
And YHWHוְ יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwill putנָתַןallכָּלtheseהָאֵלֶּהoaths of imprecationהָאָלוֹתonעַלyour enemiesאֹיְבֶיךָand onוְעַלthose who hate you,שֹׂנְאֶיךָwhoאֲשֶׁרpersecuted you.רְדָפוּךָ
And youוְאַתָּהwill returnתָשׁוּבand listenוְשָׁמַעְתָּto the voiceבְּקוֹלof YHWHיְהוָהand doוְעָשִׂיתָallכָּלhis commandmentsמִצְוֺתָיוthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commanding youמְצַוְּךָtoday.הַיּוֹם
And YHWHוְ יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwill make you aboundהוֹתִירְךָin allבְּכֹלthe workמַעֲשֵׂהof your hand,יָדֶךָin the fruitבִּפְרִיof your wombבִטְנְךָand in the fruitוּבִפְרִיof your livestockבְהֶמְתְּךָand in the fruitוּבִפְרִיof your ground,אַדְמָתְךָfor good;לְטוֹבָהforכִּיYHWHיְהוָהwill againיָשׁוּבrejoiceלָשׂוּשׂover youעָלֶיךָfor good,לְטוֹבasכַּאֲשֶׁרhe rejoicedשָׂשׂoverעַלyour fathers,אֲבֹתֶיךָ
ifכִּיyou listenתִשְׁמַעto the voiceבְּקוֹלof YHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָto keepלִשְׁמֹרhis commandmentsמִצְוֺתָיוand his statutesוְחֻקֹּתָיוthat are writtenהַכְּתוּבָהin thisהַזֶּהbookבְּסֵפֶרof the instruction,הַתּוֹרָהifכִּיyou returnתָשׁוּבtoאֶלYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwith allבְּכָלyour heartלְבָבְךָand with allוּבְכָלyour soul.נַפְשֶׁךָ
ForכִּיthisהַזֹּאתcommandmentהַמִּצְוָהthatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commanding youמְצַוְּךָtodayהַיּוֹםis notלֹאtoo hardנִפְלֵאתfor you,הִוא מִמְּךָnorוְלֹאis itהִואfar away.רְחֹקָה
It is notלֹא הִואin the heavens,בַשָּׁמַיִםthat you should say,לֵאמֹר“Whoמִיwill go upיַעֲלֶהfor usלָּנוּto the heavensהַשָּׁמַיְמָהand get itוְיִקָּחֶהָfor usלָּנוּand make us hearוְיַשְׁמִעֵנוּit,אֹתָהּso that we may do it?”וְנַעֲשֶׂנָּה
Nor is itוְלֹא הִואbeyondמֵעֵבֶרthe sea,לַיָּםthat you should say,לֵאמֹר“Whoמִיwill cross overיַעֲבָרfor usלָנוּtoאֶלthe other sideעֵבֶרof the seaהַיָּםand get itוְיִקָּחֶהָfor usלָּנוּand make us hearוְיַשְׁמִעֵנוּit,אֹתָהּso that we may do it?”וְנַעֲשֶׂנָּה
Forכִּיthe wordהַדָּבָרis veryמְאֹדnearקָרוֹבyou,אֵלֶיךָin your mouthבְּפִיךָand in your heart,וּבִלְבָבְךָso that you may do it.לַעֲשֹׂתוֹ
See,רְאֵהI have setנָתַתִּיbefore youלְפָנֶיךָtodayהַיּוֹםlifeהַחַיִּיםand good,וְ הַטּוֹבand deathוְ הַמָּוֶתand evil,וְ הָרָע
in thatאֲשֶׁרIאָנֹכִיam commanding youמְצַוְּךָtodayהַיּוֹםto loveלְאַהֲבָהYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָto walkלָלֶכֶתin his ways,בִּדְרָכָיוand to keepוְלִשְׁמֹרhis commandmentsמִצְוֺתָיוand his statutesוְחֻקֹּתָיוand his rules,וּמִשְׁפָּטָיוso that you will liveוְחָיִיתָand multiply,וְרָבִיתָand YHWHוּ יְהוָהyour Elohimאֱלֹהֶיךָwill bless youבֵרַכְךָin the landבָּאָרֶץthatאֲשֶׁרyouאַתָּהare enteringבָאthereשָׁמָּהto possess it.לְרִשְׁתָּהּ
But ifוְאִםyour heartלְבָבְךָturns awayיִפְנֶהand you do notוְלֹאlisten,תִשְׁמָעand are drawn awayוְנִדַּחְתָּand bow downוְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתָto otherאֲחֵרִיםgodsלֵאלֹהִיםand serve them,וַעֲבַדְתָּם
I declareהִגַּדְתִּיto youלָכֶםtodayהַיּוֹםthatכִּיyou will surely perish;אָבֹד תֹּאבֵדוּןyou will notלֹאprolongתַאֲרִיכֻןyour daysיָמִיםonעַלthe landהָאֲדָמָהthatאֲשֶׁרyouאַתָּהare crossingעֹבֵרthe Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּןto enterלָבֹאthereשָׁמָּהto possess it.לְרִשְׁתָּהּ
I callהַעִידֹתִיthe heavensהַשָּׁמַיִםand the earthוְ הָאָרֶץto witnessהַעִידֹתִיagainst youבָכֶםtoday:הַיּוֹםlifeהַחַיִּיםand deathוְהַמָּוֶתI have setנָתַתִּיbefore you,לְפָנֶיךָthe blessingהַבְּרָכָהand the curse.וְהַקְּלָלָהAnd you shall chooseוּבָחַרְתָּlife,בַּחַיִּיםso thatלְמַעַןyouאַתָּהmay live,תִּחְיֶהyou and your offspring,וְזַרְעֶךָ
lovingלְאַהֲבָהYHWHיְהוָהyour Elohim,אֱלֹהֶיךָlisteningלִשְׁמֹעַto his voice,בְּקֹלוֹand clingingוּלְדָבְקָהto him;בוֹforכִּיheהוּאisyour lifeחַיֶּיךָand the lengthוְאֹרֶךְof your days,יָמֶיךָso that you may liveלָשֶׁבֶתonעַלthe landהָאֲדָמָהthatאֲשֶׁרYHWHיְהוָהsworeנִשְׁבַּעto your fathers,לַאֲבֹתֶיךָto Abraham,לְאַבְרָהָםto Isaac,לְיִצְחָקand to Jacob,וּלְיַעֲקֹבto giveלָתֵתthem.לָהֶם
