ThisτοῦτοonlyμόνονI wantθέλωto learnμαθεῖνfromἀφ’you:ὑμῶνdid you receiveἐλάβετεthe Spiritτὸ πνεῦμαbyἐξworksἔργωνof the law,νόμουorἢbyἐξhearingἀκοῆςwith faith?πίστεως
Are youἐστεsoοὕτωςfoolish?ἀνόητοίHaving begunἐναρξάμενοιby the Spirit,πνεύματιare you now finishingνῦν ἐπιτελεῖσθεby the flesh?σαρκὶ
Did you sufferἐπάθετεso many thingsτοσαῦταin vain?εἰκῇ—ifεἴindeedγεit wasreallyκαὶin vain.εἰκῇ
Soοὖνthe one whoὁsuppliesἐπιχορηγῶνto youὑμῖνthe Spiritτὸ πνεῦμαandκαὶworksἐνεργῶνmiraclesδυνάμειςamongἐνyou,ὑμῖνdoes he do itbyἐξworksἔργωνof the law,νόμουorἢbyἐξhearingἀκοῆςwith faith?πίστεως
Just asκαθὼςAbrahamἈβραὰμbelievedἐπίστευσενGod,τῷ θεῷandκαὶit was countedἐλογίσθηto himαὐτῷasεἰςrighteousness.δικαιοσύνην
Know,Γινώσκετεthen,ἄραthatὅτιthoseοἱofἐκfaith,πίστεωςtheseοὗτοιareεἰσινsonsυἱοίof Abraham.Ἀβραάμ
Andδὲthe Scripture,ἡ γραφὴforeseeingπροϊδοῦσαthatὅτιGodὁ θεὸςwould declareδικαιοῖthe nationsτὰ ἔθνηrighteousδικαιοῖbyἐκfaith,πίστεωςproclaimed the good news beforehandπροευηγγελίσατοto Abraham:τῷ ἈβραὰμInἐνyouσοὶallπάνταthe nationsτὰ ἔθνηwill be blessed.Ἐνευλογηθήσονται
So thenὥστεthoseοἱofἐκfaithπίστεωςare blessedεὐλογοῦνταιwithσὺνAbraham,Ἀβραάμthe believer.τῷ πιστῷ
Forγὰρall whoὍσοιareεἰσὶνofἐξworksἔργωνof the lawνόμουareεἰσίνunderὑπὸa curse;κατάρανforγὰρit is written:γέγραπταιCursed isἘπικατάρατοςeveryoneπᾶςwhoὃςdoes notοὐκremainἐμμένειin allπᾶσινthe thingsτοῖςwrittenγεγραμμένοιςinἐνthe bookτῷ βιβλίῳof the law,τοῦ νόμουto doτοῦ ποιῆσαιthem.αὐτά
Nowδὲthatὅτιbyἐνthe lawνόμῳno oneοὐδεὶςis declared righteousδικαιοῦταιbeforeπαρὰGodτῷ θεῷisevident,δῆλονbecauseὅτιTheὉrighteousδίκαιοςwill liveζήσεταιbyἐκfaith.πίστεως
Butδὲthe lawὁ νόμοςisἔστινnotοὐκofἐκfaith;πίστεωςrather,ἀλλ’The one who doesὉ ποιήσαςthemαὐτὰwill liveζήσεταιbyἐνthem.αὐτοῖς
The MessiahΧριστὸςredeemedἐξηγόρασενusἡμᾶςfromἐκthe curseτῆς κατάραςof the lawτοῦ νόμουby becomingγενόμενοςa curseκατάραforὑπὲρus,ἡμῶνbecauseὅτιit is written:γέγραπταιCursed isἘπικατάρατοςeveryoneπᾶςwhoὁhangsκρεμάμενοςonἐπὶa wooden beam,ξύλου
so thatἵναtoεἰςthe nationsτὰ ἔθνηthe blessingἡ εὐλογίαof Abrahamτοῦ Ἀβραὰμmight comeγένηταιinἐνthe MessiahΧριστῷJesus,Ἰησοῦso thatἵναwe might receiveλάβωμενthe promiseτὴν ἐπαγγελίανof the Spiritτοῦ πνεύματοςthroughδιὰfaith.τῆς πίστεως
Brothers,ἈδελφοίI speakλέγωin human terms:κατὰ ἄνθρωπονevenὅμωςa man’sἀνθρώπουcovenant,διαθήκηνonce ratified,κεκυρωμένηνno oneοὐδεὶςannulsἀθετεῖorἢadds to it.ἐπιδιατάσσεται
Nowδὲto Abrahamτῷ Ἀβραὰμthe promisesαἱ ἐπαγγελίαιwere spoken,ἐρρέθησανandκαὶto his offspring.τῷ σπέρματι αὐτοῦIt does notοὐsay,λέγειAndΚαὶto offsprings,τοῖς σπέρμασινasὡςofἐπὶmany,πολλῶνbutἀλλ’asὡςofἐφ’one,ἑνόςAndΚαὶto your offspring,τῷ σπέρματί σουwhoὅςisἐστινthe Messiah.Χριστός
NowδὲthisτοῦτοI say:λέγωa covenantδιαθήκηνpreviously ratifiedπροκεκυρωμένηνbyὑπὸGod,τοῦ θεοῦthe law,ὁ νόμοςwhich cameγεγονὼςfour hundredτετρακόσιαandκαὶthirtyτριάκονταyearsἔτηlater,μετὰdoes notοὐκannul,ἀκυροῖso asεἰς τὸto nullifyκαταργῆσαιthe promise.τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν
Forγὰρifεἰthe inheritanceἡ κληρονομίαisbyἐκthe law,νόμουit isno longerοὐκέτιbyἐξpromise;ἐπαγγελίαςbutδὲto Abrahamτῷ ἈβραὰμGodὁ θεόςhas granted itκεχάρισταιthroughδι’promise.ἐπαγγελίας
WhyΤίthenοὖνthe law?ὁ νόμοςIt was addedπροσετέθηbecause ofχάρινtransgressions,τῶν παραβάσεωνuntilἄχρις οὗthe offspringτὸ σπέρμαshould comeἔλθῃto whomᾧthe promise had been made,ἐπήγγελταιand it wasordainedδιαταγεὶςthroughδι’angelsἀγγέλωνbyἐνthe handχειρὶof a mediator.μεσίτου
Nowδὲthe mediatorὁ μεσίτηςisἔστινnotοὐκof one party alone;ἑνὸςbutδὲGodὁ θεὸςisἐστινone.εἷς
Isthe lawὉ νόμοςthenοὖνagainstκατὰthe promisesτῶν ἐπαγγελιῶνof God?τοῦ θεοῦBy no means!μὴ γένοιτοForγὰρifεἰa lawνόμοςhad been givenἐδόθηthatὁcouldδυνάμενοςgive life,ζῳοποιῆσαιrighteousnessἡ δικαιοσύνηwouldἂνreallyὄντωςhave beenἦνbyἐκthe law.νόμου
Butἀλλὰthe Scriptureἡ γραφὴhas confinedσυνέκλεισενall thingsτὰ πάνταunderὑπὸsin,ἁμαρτίανso thatἵναthe promiseἡ ἐπαγγελίαbyἐκfaithπίστεωςin JesusἸησοῦthe MessiahΧριστοῦmight be givenδοθῇto those who believe.τοῖς πιστεύουσιν
ButδὲbeforeΠρὸ τοῦfaithτὴν πίστινcame,ἐλθεῖνwe were held in custodyἐφρουρούμεθαunderὑπὸthe law,νόμονconfinedσυγκλειόμενοιuntilεἰςthe faithτὴν πίστινthat was aboutμέλλουσανto be revealed.ἀποκαλυφθῆναι
So thenὥστεthe lawὁ νόμοςhas becomeγέγονενourἡμῶνtutorπαιδαγωγὸςuntilεἰςthe Messiah,Χριστόνso thatἵναwe might be declared righteousδικαιωθῶμενbyἐκfaith.πίστεως
Butδὲnow that faithτῆς πίστεωςhas come,ἐλθούσηςwe areἐσμενno longerοὐκέτιunderὑπὸa tutor.παιδαγωγόν
Forγὰρyou areἐστεallπάντεςsonsυἱοὶof Godθεοῦthroughδιὰfaithτῆς πίστεωςinἐνthe MessiahΧριστῷJesus.Ἰησοῦ
Forγὰρas many of you asὅσοιwere immersedἐβαπτίσθητεintoεἰςthe MessiahΧριστὸνhave clothed yourselves withἐνεδύσασθεthe Messiah.Χριστὸν
There isἔνιneitherοὐκJewἸουδαῖοςnorοὐδὲGreek;Ἕλληνthere isἔνιneitherοὐκslaveδοῦλοςnorοὐδὲfree;ἐλεύθεροςthere isἔνιnoοὐκmaleἄρσενandκαὶfemale;θῆλυforγὰρyouὑμεῖςareἐστεallπάντεςoneεἷςinἐνthe MessiahΧριστῷJesus.Ἰησοῦ
