Soοὖνthey gaveἐποίησανa dinnerδεῖπνονfor himαὐτῷthere,ἐκεῖandκαὶMarthaἡ Μάρθαwas serving,διηκόνειandδὲLazarusὁ Λάζαροςwasἦνoneεἷςofἐκthose reclining at tableτῶν ἀνακειμένωνwithσὺνhim.αὐτῷ
ThenοὖνMaryἡ Μαριὰμtookλαβοῦσαa litraλίτρανof perfume,μύρουpureπιστικῆςnard,νάρδουvery costly,πολυτίμουand anointedἤλειψενthe feetτοὺς πόδαςof Jesusτοῦ Ἰησοῦandκαὶwipedἐξέμαξενhis feetτοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦwith her hair;ταῖς θριξὶν αὐτῆςandδὲthe houseἡ οἰκίαwas filledἐπληρώθηwithἐκthe fragranceτῆς ὀσμῆςof the perfume.τοῦ μύρου
ButδὲJudasἸούδαςIscariot,ὁ Ἰσκαριώτηςoneεἷςofτῶνhis disciples,μαθητῶν αὐτοῦthe one whoὁwas goingμέλλωνto hand him over,αὐτὸν παραδιδόναιsays,λέγει
“WhyΔιὰ τίwasἐπράθηthis perfumeτοῦτο τὸ μύρονnotοὐκsoldἐπράθηfor three hundredτριακοσίωνdenariiδηναρίωνandκαὶgivenἐδόθηto the poor?”πτωχοῖς
He saidεἶπενthis,τοῦτοnotοὐχbecauseὅτιhe caredἔμελενaboutπερὶthe poor,τῶν πτωχῶνbutἀλλ’becauseὅτιhe wasἦνa thief,κλέπτηςandκαὶhavingἔχωνthe money box,τὸ γλωσσόκομονhe used to takeἐβάσταζενwhatτὰwas put into it.βαλλόμενα
SoοὖνJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaid,εἶπεν“LeaveἌφεςher alone,αὐτήνso thatἵναshe may keepτηρήσῃitαὐτόforεἰςthe dayτὴν ἡμέρανof my burial.τοῦ ἐνταφιασμοῦ μου
Forγὰρthe poorτοὺς πτωχοὺςyou alwaysπάντοτεhaveἔχετεwithμεθ’you,ἑαυτῶνbutδὲmeἐμὲyou do notοὐalwaysπάντοτεhave.”ἔχετε
Soοὖνa largeπολὺςcrowdὄχλοςofἐκthe Jewsτῶν ἸουδαίωνlearnedἜγνωthatὅτιhe wasἐστινthere,ἐκεῖandκαὶthey came,ἦλθονnotοὐbecause ofδιὰJesusτὸν Ἰησοῦνonly,μόνονbutἀλλ’so thatἵναthey might alsoκαὶseeἴδωσινLazarus,τὸν Λάζαρονwhomὃνhe had raisedἤγειρενfromἐκthe dead.νεκρῶν
Soδὲthe high priestsοἱ ἀρχιερεῖςplannedἐβουλεύσαντοtoἵναkillἀποκτείνωσινLazarusτὸν Λάζαρονalso,καὶ
becauseὅτιon account ofδι’himαὐτὸνmanyπολλοὶof the Jewsτῶν Ἰουδαίωνwere going awayὑπῆγονandκαὶbelievingἐπίστευονinεἰςJesus.τὸν Ἰησοῦν
The next dayΤῇ ἐπαύριονthe greatπολὺςcrowdὁ ὄχλοςthatὁhad comeἐλθὼνtoεἰςthe feast,τὴν ἑορτήνwhen they heardἀκούσαντεςthatὅτιJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςwas comingἔρχεταιtoεἰςJerusalem,Ἱεροσόλυμα
tookἔλαβονthe branchesτὰ βαΐαof the palm treesτῶν φοινίκωνandκαὶwent outἐξῆλθονto meetεἰς ὑπάντησινhim,αὐτῷandκαὶthey were crying out,ἐκραύγαζον“Hosanna!ὩσαννάBlessedεὐλογημένοςis the one whoὁcomesἐρχόμενοςinἐνthe nameὀνόματιof the Lord,κυρίουthe Kingὁ βασιλεὺςof Israel!”τοῦ Ἰσραήλ
AndδὲJesus,ὁ Ἰησοῦςhaving foundεὑρὼνa young donkey,ὀνάριονsatἐκάθισενonἐπ’it,αὐτόasκαθώςit isἐστινwritten,γεγραμμένον
“Do notΜὴbe afraid,φοβοῦdaughterθυγάτηρof Zion;Σιώνlook,ἰδοὺyour kingὁ βασιλεύς σουis coming,ἔρχεταιsittingκαθήμενοςonἐπὶa donkey’sὄνουcolt.”πῶλον
His disciplesαὐτοῦ οἱ μαθηταὶdid notοὐκunderstandἔγνωσανthese thingsταῦταat first,τὸ πρῶτονbutἀλλ’whenὅτεJesusἸησοῦςwas glorified,ἐδοξάσθηthenτότεthey rememberedἐμνήσθησανthatὅτιthese thingsταῦταhad beenἦνwrittenγεγραμμέναaboutἐπ’himαὐτῷandκαὶthat they had doneἐποίησανthese thingsταῦταto him.αὐτῷ
Soοὖνthe crowdὁ ὄχλοςthatὁhad beenὢνwithμετ’himαὐτοῦwhenὅτεhe calledἐφώνησενLazarusτὸν Λάζαρονout ofἐκthe tombτοῦ μνημείουandκαὶraisedἤγειρενhimαὐτὸνfromἐκthe deadνεκρῶνkept testifying.ἐμαρτύρει
For this reasonδιὰ τοῦτοalsoκαὶthe crowdὁ ὄχλοςwent to meetὑπήντησενhim,αὐτῷbecauseὅτιthey heardἤκουσανthat heαὐτὸνhad doneπεποιηκέναιthisτοῦτοsign.τὸ σημεῖον
Soοὖνthe Phariseesοἱ Φαρισαῖοιsaidεἶπανtoπρὸςone another,ἑαυτούς“You seeΘεωρεῖτεthatὅτιyou are accomplishingὠφελεῖτεnothing.οὐκ οὐδένLook,ἴδεthe worldὁ κόσμοςhas goneἀπῆλθενafterὀπίσωhim!”αὐτοῦ
Nowδὲthere wereἮσανsomeτινεςGreeksἝλληνέςamongἐκthose whoτῶνwent upἀναβαινόντωνtoἵναworshipπροσκυνήσωσινatἐνthe feast.τῇ ἑορτῇ
Soοὖνtheseοὗτοιcameπροσῆλθονto Philip,Φιλίππῳwho wasτῷfromἀπὸBethsaidaΒηθσαϊδὰin Galilee,τῆς Γαλιλαίαςandκαὶthey were askingἠρώτωνhim,αὐτὸνsaying,λέγοντες“Sir,Κύριεwe wishθέλομενto seeἰδεῖνJesus.”τὸν Ἰησοῦν
Philipὁ ΦίλιπποςcomesἔρχεταιandκαὶtellsλέγειAndrew;τῷ ἈνδρέᾳAndrewἈνδρέαςandκαὶPhilipΦίλιπποςcomeἔρχεταιandκαὶtellλέγουσινJesus.τῷ Ἰησοῦ
AndδὲJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςanswersἀποκρίνεταιthem,αὐτοῖςsaying,λέγων“The hourἡ ὥραhas comeἘλήλυθενforἵναthe Sonὁ υἱὸςof Manτοῦ ἀνθρώπουto be glorified.δοξασθῇ
Truly,ἀμὴνtruly,ἀμὴνI tellλέγωyou,ὑμῖνunlessἐὰν μὴa grainὁ κόκκοςof wheatτοῦ σίτουfallsπεσὼνintoεἰςthe earthτὴν γῆνand dies,ἀποθάνῃitαὐτὸςremainsμένειalone;μόνοςbutδὲifἐὰνit dies,ἀποθάνῃit bearsφέρειmuchπολὺνfruit.καρπὸν
Whoeverὁholdsφιλῶνhis lifeτὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦdearφιλῶνlosesἀπολλύειit,αὐτήνandκαὶwhoeverὁhatesμισῶνhis lifeτὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦinἐνthis worldτῷ κόσμῳ τούτῳwill keepφυλάξειitαὐτήνforεἰςeternalαἰώνιονlife.ζωὴν
Ifἐὰνanyoneτιςservesδιακονῇme,ἐμοίlet him followἀκολουθείτωme;ἐμοὶandκαὶwhereὅπουIἐγὼam,εἰμὶthereἐκεῖmy servantὁ διάκονος ὁ ἐμὸςwill beἔσταιalso.καὶIfἐάνanyoneτιςservesδιακονῇme,ἐμοὶthe Fatherὁ πατήρwill honorτιμήσειhim.αὐτὸν
NowΝῦνmy soulἡ ψυχή μουis troubled.τετάρακταιAndκαὶwhatτίshall I say?εἴπω‘Father,πάτερsaveσῶσόνmeμεfromἐκthis hour’?τῆς ὥρας ταύτηςButἀλλὰfor this reasonδιὰ τοῦτοI cameἦλθονtoεἰςthis hour.τὴν ὥραν ταύτην
Father,πάτερglorifyδόξασόνyour name.”σου τὸ ὄνομαSoοὖνa voiceφωνὴcameἦλθενfromἐκheaven:τοῦ οὐρανοῦ“I have glorified it,ἐδόξασαandκαὶI will glorify itδοξάσωagain.”πάλιν
Soοὖνthe crowdὁ ὄχλοςthatὁstood thereἑστὼςandκαὶheard itἀκούσαςwere sayingἔλεγενthat it hadγεγονέναιthundered;βροντὴνothersἄλλοιwere saying,ἔλεγον“An angelἌγγελοςhas spokenλελάληκενto him.”αὐτῷ
JesusἸησοῦςansweredἀπεκρίθηandκαὶsaid,εἶπεν“This voiceἡ φωνὴ αὕτηhas comeγέγονενnotΟὐforδι’my sakeἐμὲbutἀλλὰforδι’yours.ὑμᾶς
Nowνῦνisἐστὶνthe judgmentκρίσιςof this world;τοῦ κόσμου τούτουnowνῦνthe rulerὁ ἄρχωνof this worldτοῦ κόσμου τούτουwill be drivenἐκβληθήσεταιout.ἔξω
And I,κἀγὼwhenἐὰνI am lifted upὑψωθῶfromἐκthe earth,τῆς γῆςwill drawἑλκύσωallπάνταςtoπρὸςmyself.”ἐμαυτόν
He saidἔλεγενthisτοῦτοto showσημαίνωνby what kind ofποίῳdeathθανάτῳhe was goingἤμελλενto die.ἀποθνῄσκειν
Soοὖνthe crowdὁ ὄχλοςansweredἀπεκρίθηhim,αὐτῷ“WeἩμεῖςhave heardἠκούσαμενfromἐκthe lawτοῦ νόμουthatὅτιthe Messiahὁ χριστὸςremainsμένειforever.εἰς τὸν αἰῶναAndκαὶhowπῶςcan youσὺsayλέγειςthatὅτιthe Sonτὸν υἱὸνof Manτοῦ ἀνθρώπουmustδεῖbe lifted up?ὑψωθῆναιWhoτίςisἐστινthisοὗτοςSonὁ υἱὸςof Man?”τοῦ ἀνθρώπου
SoοὖνJesusὁ Ἰησοῦςsaidεἶπενto them,αὐτοῖς“The lightτὸ φῶςisἐστινamongἐνyouὑμῖνa littleμικρὸνwhileχρόνονlonger.ἜτιWalkπεριπατεῖτεwhileὡςyou haveἔχετεthe light,τὸ φῶςso thatἵναdarknessσκοτίαmay notμὴovertakeκαταλάβῃyou;ὑμᾶςandκαὶwhoeverὁwalksπεριπατῶνinἐνthe darknessτῇ σκοτίᾳdoes notοὐκknowοἶδενwhereποῦhe is going.ὑπάγει
Whileὡςyou haveἔχετεthe light,τὸ φῶςbelieveπιστεύετεinεἰςthe light,τὸ φῶςso thatἵναyou may becomeγένησθεsonsυἱοὶof light.”φωτὸςJesusἸησοῦςspokeἐλάλησενthese things,Ταῦταandκαὶhe went awayἀπελθὼνand was hiddenἐκρύβηfromἀπ’them.αὐτῶν
Butδὲthough he had doneπεποιηκότοςso manyτοσαῦταsignsσημεῖαbeforeἔμπροσθενthem,αὐτῶνthey were notοὐκbelievingἐπίστευονinεἰςhim,αὐτόν
so thatἵναthe wordὁ λόγοςof IsaiahἨσαΐουthe prophetτοῦ προφήτουmight be fulfilled,πληρωθῇwhichὃνhe spoke:εἶπεν“Lord,Κύριεwhoτίςhas believedἐπίστευσενour report?τῇ ἀκοῇ ἡμῶνAndκαὶto whomτίνιhas the armὁ βραχίωνof the Lordκυρίουbeen revealed?”ἀπεκαλύφθη
For this reasonδιὰ τοῦτοthey couldἠδύναντοnotοὐκbelieve,πιστεύεινbecauseὅτιagainπάλινIsaiahἨσαΐαςsaid,εἶπεν
“He has blindedΤετύφλωκενtheir eyesαὐτῶν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺςandκαὶhardenedἐπώρωσενtheir heart,αὐτῶν τὴν καρδίανso thatἵναthey may notμὴseeἴδωσινwith their eyesτοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖςandκαὶunderstandνοήσωσινwith their heartτῇ καρδίᾳandκαὶturn,στραφῶσινandκαὶI will healἰάσομαιthem.”αὐτούς
IsaiahἨσαΐαςsaidεἶπενthese thingsταῦταbecauseὅτιhe sawεἶδενhis glory,τὴν δόξαν αὐτοῦandκαὶhe spokeἐλάλησενaboutπερὶhim.αὐτοῦ
Nevertheless,ὅμως μέντοιevenκαὶamongἐκthe rulersτῶν ἀρχόντωνmanyπολλοὶbelievedἐπίστευσανinεἰςhim,αὐτόνbutἀλλὰbecause ofδιὰthe Phariseesτοὺς Φαρισαίουςthey were notοὐχconfessing it,ὡμολόγουνso thatἵναthey would notμὴbe put out of the synagogue;ἀποσυνάγωγοι γένωνται
forγὰρthey lovedἠγάπησανthe gloryτὴν δόξανthat comes from peopleτῶν ἀνθρώπωνmoreμᾶλλονthanἤπερthe gloryτὴν δόξανthat comes from God.τοῦ θεοῦ
ButδὲJesusἸησοῦςcried outἔκραξενandκαὶsaid,εἶπεν“WhoeverὉbelievesπιστεύωνinεἰςmeἐμὲdoes notοὐbelieveπιστεύειinεἰςmeἐμὲbutἀλλὰinεἰςthe one whoτὸνsentπέμψαντάme.με
Andκαὶwhoeverὁseesθεωρῶνmeἐμὲseesθεωρεῖthe one whoτὸνsentπέμψαντάme.με
Iἐγὼhave comeἐλήλυθαas lightφῶςintoεἰςthe world,τὸν κόσμονso thatἵναeveryoneπᾶςwhoὁbelievesπιστεύωνinεἰςmeἐμὲmay notμὴremainμείνῃinἐνthe darkness.τῇ σκοτίᾳ
Andκαὶifἐάνanyoneτίςhearsἀκούσῃmy wordsμου τῶν ῥημάτωνandκαὶdoes notμὴkeep them,φυλάξῃIἐγὼdo notοὐjudgeκρίνωhim;αὐτόνforγὰρI did notοὐcomeἦλθονtoἵναjudgeκρίνωthe worldτὸν κόσμονbutἀλλ’toἵναsaveσώσωthe world.τὸν κόσμον
Whoeverὁrejectsἀθετῶνmeἐμὲandκαὶdoes notμὴreceiveλαμβάνωνmy wordsτὰ ῥήματά μουhasἔχειa judge:τὸν κρίνονταthe wordὁ λόγοςthatὃνI have spoken,ἐλάλησαthatἐκεῖνοςwill judgeκρινεῖhimαὐτὸνonἐνthe lastτῇ ἐσχάτῃday.ἡμέρᾳ
ForὅτιIἐγὼhave notοὐκspokenἐλάλησαonἐξmy own,ἐμαυτοῦbutἀλλ’the Fatherπατὴρwhoὁsentπέμψαςmeμεhas himselfαὐτόςgivenδέδωκενmeμοιa commandmentἐντολὴνwhatτίto sayεἴπωandκαὶwhatτίto speak.λαλήσω
AndκαὶI knowοἶδαthatὅτιhis commandmentἡ ἐντολὴ αὐτοῦisἐστινeternalαἰώνιόςlife.ζωὴSoοὖνwhatἃIἐγὼspeak,λαλῶI speakλαλῶjust asκαθὼςthe Fatherὁ πατήρhas toldεἴρηκένme.”μοι
