How we translate it

This edition’s glossary sets euangelion = ‘good news’, and the verb is rendered with the same words, so that it can be seen what both mean: “proclaim the good news” (8 times), “proclaiming the good news” (7), “announcing the good news” (5), “bring good news” (3). When the object is the message itself it reads “as good news” (“we proclaimed as good news to you”, Galatians 1:8). If the words ‘good news’ are already in the sentence, the verb stands alone (“the good news that I proclaimed to you”, 1 Corinthians 15:1).
