BlessedΕὐλογητὸςbethe Godὁ θεὸςandκαὶFatherπατὴρof our Lordτοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦthe Messiah,Χριστοῦthe Fatherὁ πατὴρof merciesτῶν οἰκτιρμῶνandκαὶGodθεὸςof allπάσηςcomfort,παρακλήσεως

who comfortsὁ παρακαλῶνusἡμᾶςinἐπὶallπάσῃour affliction,τῇ θλίψει ἡμῶνso thatεἰς τὸwe may be ableδύνασθαι ἡμᾶςto comfortπαρακαλεῖνthoseτοὺςinἐνanyπάσῃafflictionθλίψειwithδιὰthe comfortτῆς παρακλήσεωςwith whichἧςwe ourselvesαὐτοὶare comfortedπαρακαλούμεθαbyὑπὸGod.τοῦ θεοῦ

Forὅτιjust asκαθὼςthe sufferingsτὰ παθήματαof the Messiahτοῦ Χριστοῦoverflowπερισσεύειtoεἰςus,ἡμᾶςsoοὕτωςthroughδιὰthe Messiahτοῦ Χριστοῦour comfortἡ παράκλησις ἡμῶνalsoκαὶoverflows.περισσεύει

Ifεἴτεwe are afflicted,θλιβόμεθαit isforὑπὲρyourὑμῶνcomfortτῆς παρακλήσεωςandκαὶsalvation;σωτηρίαςifεἴτεwe are comforted,παρακαλούμεθαit isforὑπὲρyourὑμῶνcomfort,τῆς παρακλήσεωςwhichτῆςis at workἐνεργουμένηςinἐνperseveranceὑπομονῇin the sameτῶν αὐτῶνsufferingsπαθημάτωνthatὧνweἡμεῖςalsoκαὶsuffer.πάσχομεν

Andκαὶour hopeἡ ἐλπὶς ἡμῶνforὑπὲρyouὑμῶνisfirm,βεβαίαbecause we knowεἰδότεςthatὅτιasὡςyou areἐστεpartnersκοινωνοίin the sufferings,τῶν παθημάτωνsoοὕτωςalsoκαὶyou arein the comfort.τῆς παρακλήσεως

Forγὰρwe do notΟὐwantθέλομενyouὑμᾶςto be unaware,ἀγνοεῖνbrothers,ἀδελφοίofὑπὲρour afflictionτῆς θλίψεως ἡμῶνthatτῆςcame aboutγενομένηςinἐνAsia:τῇ Ἀσίᾳthatὅτιwe were weighed downἐβαρήθημενutterly,καθ’ ὑπερβολὴνbeyondὑπὲρourstrength,δύναμινso thatὥστεweἡμᾶςdespairedἐξαπορηθῆναιevenκαὶof living.τοῦ ζῆν

Butἀλλὰwe ourselvesαὐτοὶhave hadἐσχήκαμενthe sentenceτὸ ἀπόκριμαof deathτοῦ θανάτουwithinἐνourselves,ἑαυτοῖςso thatἵναwe would notμὴbeὦμενtrustingπεποιθότεςinἐφ’ourselvesἑαυτοῖςbutἀλλ’inἐπὶGodτῷ θεῷwho raisesτῷ ἐγείροντιthe dead,τοὺς νεκρούς

whoὃςrescuedἐρρύσατοusἡμᾶςfromἐκso greatτηλικούτουa death,θανάτουandκαὶwill rescue us;ῥύσεταιonεἰςhimὃνwe have set our hopeἠλπίκαμενthatὅτιhe will rescue usῥύσεταιstillἔτιas well,καὶ

while youὑμῶνalsoκαὶhelp togetherσυνυπουργούντωνforὑπὲρusἡμῶνby your prayer,τῇ δεήσειso thatἵναthanks may be givenεὐχαριστηθῇon our behalfὑπὲρ ἡμῶνbyἐκmanyπολλῶνpeopleπροσώπωνfor the giftτὸ χάρισμαgrantedtoεἰςusἡμᾶςthroughδιὰmany.πολλῶν

Forγὰρour boastingἩ καύχησις ἡμῶνisἐστίνthis:αὕτηthe testimonyτὸ μαρτύριονof our conscience,τῆς συνειδήσεως ἡμῶνthatὅτιinἐνholinessἁγιότητιandκαὶsincerityεἰλικρινείᾳof God,τοῦ θεοῦnotοὐκinἐνfleshlyσαρκικῇwisdomσοφίᾳbutἀλλ’inἐνthe graceχάριτιof God,θεοῦwe have conducted ourselvesἀνεστράφημενinἐνthe world,τῷ κόσμῳandδὲespeciallyπερισσοτέρωςtowardπρὸςyou.ὑμᾶς

Forγὰρwe are not writingοὐ γράφομενto youὑμῖνanything elseἄλλαthanἀλλ’ ἢwhatἃyou readἀναγινώσκετεorἢevenκαὶunderstand;ἐπιγινώσκετεandδὲI hopeἐλπίζωthatὅτιyou will understandἐπιγνώσεσθεuntilἕωςthe end,τέλους

just asκαθὼςyou alsoκαὶhave understoodἐπέγνωτεusἡμᾶςinἀπὸpart,μέρουςthatὅτιwe areἐσμενyour boast,καύχημα ὑμῶνjust asκαθάπερyouὑμεῖςalsoκαὶareoursἡμῶνonἐνthe dayτῇ ἡμέρᾳof our Lordτοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶνJesus.Ἰησοῦ

AndΚαὶwith thisταύτῃ τῇconfidenceπεποιθήσειI wantedἐβουλόμηνto comeἐλθεῖνtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶςfirst,πρότερονso thatἵναyou might haveσχῆτεa secondδευτέρανgrace,χάριν

andκαὶto passδιελθεῖνthroughδι’youὑμῶνintoεἰςMacedonia,Μακεδονίανandκαὶto comeἐλθεῖνbackπάλινfromἀπὸMacedoniaΜακεδονίαςtoπρὸςyouὑμᾶςandκαὶto be sent on my wayπροπεμφθῆναιbyὑφ’youὑμῶνtoεἰςJudea.τὴν Ἰουδαίαν

Soοὖνwhen I intendedβουλόμενοςthis,τοῦτοsurely I did notμήτι ἄραactἐχρησάμηνwith fickleness?τῇ ἐλαφρίᾳOrἢwhatἃI plan,βουλεύομαιdo I plan itβουλεύομαιaccording toκατὰthe flesh,σάρκαso thatἵναwithπαρ’meἐμοὶthere may beᾖ“Yes,τὸ Ναὶyes”ναὶandκαὶ“No,τὸ Οὒno”?οὔ

ButδὲasGodὁ θεὸςisfaithful,πιστὸςour wordὁ λόγος ἡμῶνtoὁ πρὸςyouὑμᾶςisἔστινnotοὐκ“YesΝαὶandκαὶNo.”Οὔ

Forγὰρthe Sonὁ υἱὸςof God,τοῦ θεοῦJesusἸησοῦςthe Messiah,Χριστὸςwhoὁwas proclaimedκηρυχθείςamongἐνyouὑμῖνbyδι’us,ἡμῶνbyδι’meἐμοῦandκαὶSilvanusΣιλουανοῦandκαὶTimothy,Τιμοθέουdid notοὐκbecomeἐγένετο“YesΝαὶandκαὶNo,”Οὒbutἀλλὰinἐνhimαὐτῷ“Yes”Ναὶhas come to be.γέγονεν

Forγὰρas many asὅσαιare thepromisesἐπαγγελίαιof God,θεοῦinἐνhimαὐτῷisthe “Yes.”τὸ ΝαίThereforeδιὸalsoκαὶthroughδι’himαὐτοῦgoesthe “Amen”τὸ Ἀμὴνto Godτῷ θεῷforπρὸςgloryδόξανthroughδι’us.ἡμῶν

Andδὲthe one who establishesὁ βεβαιῶνusἡμᾶςwithσὺνyouὑμῖνinεἰςthe MessiahΧριστὸνandκαὶanointedχρίσαςusἡμᾶςisGod,θεός

whoὁalsoκαὶsealedσφραγισάμενοςusἡμᾶςandκαὶgaveδοὺςusthe down paymentτὸν ἀρραβῶναof the Spiritτοῦ πνεύματοςinἐνour hearts.ταῖς καρδίαις ἡμῶν

ButδὲIἘγὼcallἐπικαλοῦμαιGodτὸν θεὸνas witnessμάρτυραonἐπὶmyτὴν ἐμὴνlifeψυχήνthatὅτιit wasto spareφειδόμενοςyouὑμῶνthatI did not come againοὐκέτι ἦλθονtoεἰςCorinth.Κόρινθον

Notοὐχthatὅτιwe lord it overκυριεύομενyourὑμῶνfaith,τῆς πίστεωςbutἀλλὰwe areἐσμενco-workersσυνεργοίforτῆςyour joy;χαρᾶς ὑμῶνforγὰρyou standἑστήκατεby faith.τῇ πίστει
