And this isוְזֹאתthe blessingהַבְּרָכָהwith whichאֲשֶׁרMoses,מֹשֶׁהthe manאִישׁof Elohim,הָאֱלֹהִיםblessedבֵּרַךְthe sonsבְּנֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלbeforeלִפְנֵיhis death.מוֹתוֹ
And he said,וַיֹּאמַר“YHWHיְהוָהcameבָּאfrom Sinaiמִסִּינַיand dawnedוְזָרַחfrom Seirמִשֵּׂעִירupon them;לָמוֹhe shone forthהוֹפִיעַfrom MountמֵהַרParan,פָּארָןand he cameוְאָתָהfrom among myriadsמֵרִבְבֹתof holy ones;קֹדֶשׁat his right handמִימִינוֹa fireאֵשׁof lawדָּתfor them.לָמוֹ
Yes,אַףhe lovesחֹבֵבthe peoples;עַמִּיםallכָּלhis holy onesקְדֹשָׁיוare in your hand;בְּיָדֶךָand theyוְהֵםbow downתֻּכּוּat your feet;לְרַגְלֶךָeach one receivesיִשָּׂאof your words.מִדַּבְּרֹתֶיךָ
An instructionתּוֹרָהMosesמֹשֶׁהcommandedצִוָּהus,לָנוּa possessionמוֹרָשָׁהof the assemblyקְהִלַּתof Jacob.יַעֲקֹב
And there wasוַיְהִיa kingמֶלֶךְin Jeshurun,בִישֻׁרוּןwhen the headsבְּהִתְאַסֵּף רָאשֵׁיof the peopleעָםgathered,הִתְאַסֵּףthe tribesשִׁבְטֵיof Israelיִשְׂרָאֵלtogether.יַחַד
Let Reubenרְאוּבֵןliveיְחִיand notוְאַלdie,יָמֹתand let his menוִ מְתָיוbeיהִיa number.”מִסְפָּר
And thisוְזֹאתis for Judah,לִיהוּדָהand he said,וַיֹּאמַר“Hear,שְׁמַעYHWH,יְהוָהthe voiceקוֹלof Judah,יְהוּדָהand bring himוְ תְּבִיאֶנּוּtoאֶלhis people.עַמּוֹHis handsיָדָיוcontendרָבfor him;לוֹand beוְ תִּהְיֶהa helpעֵזֶרagainst his adversaries.”מִצָּרָיו
And of Leviוּלְלֵוִיhe said,אָמַר“Your Thummimתֻּמֶּיךָand your Urimוְאוּרֶיךָbelong to your faithfulלְ חֲסִידֶךָman,אִישׁwhomאֲשֶׁרyou testedנִסִּיתוֹat Massah,בְּמַסָּהwith whom you contendedתְּרִיבֵהוּatעַלthe watersמֵיof Meribah;מְרִיבָה
who saysהָאֹמֵרof his fatherלְאָבִיוand of his mother,וּלְאִמּוֹ‘I have notלֹאseen him’;רְאִיתִיוand his brothersוְ אֶחָיוhe did notלֹאacknowledge,הִכִּירand his sonsוְ בָּנָיוhe did notלֹאknow,יָדָעforכִּיthey keptשָׁמְרוּyour wordאִמְרָתֶךָand guardוּ יִנְצֹרוּyour covenant.בְרִיתְךָ
They shall teachיוֹרוּyour rulesמִשְׁפָּטֶיךָto Jacobלְיַעֲקֹבand your instructionוְתוֹרָתְךָto Israel;לְיִשְׂרָאֵלthey shall putיָשִׂימוּincenseקְטוֹרָהbefore youבְּאַפֶּךָand whole burnt offeringוְכָלִילonעַלyour altar.מִזְבְּחֶךָ
Bless,בָּרֵךְYHWH,יְהוָהhis strength,חֵילוֹand acceptוּ תִּרְצֶהthe workפֹעַלof his hands;יָדָיוcrushמְחַץthe loinsמָתְנַיִםof those who rise up against himקָמָיוand of those who hate him,וּמְשַׂנְאָיוso that they do notמִןrise again.”יְקוּמוּן
Of Benjaminלְבִנְיָמִןhe said,אָמַר“The belovedיְדִידof YHWHיְהֹוָהwill dwellיִשְׁכֹּןin securityלָבֶטַחbeside him;עָלָיוhe shieldsחֹפֵףhimעָלָיוallכָּלthe day,הַיּוֹםand betweenוּבֵיןhis shouldersכְּתֵיפָיוhe dwells.”שָׁכֵן
And of Josephוּלְיוֹסֵףhe said,אָמַר“Blessedמְבֹרֶכֶתby YHWHיְהֹוָהbe his land,אַרְצוֹwith the choicest giftsמִמֶּגֶדof the heavens,שָׁמַיִםwith the dew,מִטָּלand with the deepוּמִתְּהוֹםthat liesרֹבֶצֶתbeneath,תָּחַת
and with the choicestוּמִמֶּגֶדproduceתְּבוּאֹתof the sun,שָׁמֶשׁand with the choicestוּמִמֶּגֶדyieldגֶּרֶשׁof the months,יְרָחִים
and with the topוּמֵרֹאשׁof the ancientקֶדֶםmountains,הַרְרֵיand with the choicestוּמִמֶּגֶדof the eternalעוֹלָםhills,גִּבְעוֹת
and with the choicestוּמִמֶּגֶדof the earthאֶרֶץand its fullness,וּמְלֹאָהּand the favorוּרְצוֹןof him who dwellsשֹׁכְנִיin the bush.סְנֶהLet it comeתָּבוֹאתָהon the headלְרֹאשׁof Joseph,יוֹסֵףand on the crown of the headוּלְקָדְקֹדof the one consecratedנְזִירamong his brothers.אֶחָיו
The firstbornבְּכוֹרof his bull,שׁוֹרוֹsplendorהָדָרis his,לוֹand his hornsוְ קַרְנָיוare the hornsקַרְנֵיof a wild ox;רְאֵםwith themבָּהֶםhe will goreיְנַגַּחthe peoples,עַמִּיםall together,יַחְדָּוto the endsאַפְסֵיof the earth.אָרֶץAnd theyוְהֵםare the myriadsרִבְבוֹתof Ephraim,אֶפְרַיִםand theyוְהֵםare the thousandsאַלְפֵיof Manasseh.”מְנַשֶּׁה
And of Zebulunוְלִזְבוּלֻןhe said,אָמַר“Rejoice,שְׂמַחZebulun,זְבוּלֻןin your going out,בְּצֵאתֶךָand Issachar,וְיִשָּׂשכָרin your tents.בְּאֹהָלֶיךָ
Peoplesעַמִּיםto the mountainהַרthey will call;יִקְרָאוּthereשָׁםthey will sacrificeיִזְבְּחוּsacrificesזִבְחֵיof righteousness,צֶדֶקforכִּיthey will suckיִינָקוּthe abundanceשֶׁפַעof the seasיַמִּיםand the hiddenוּ טְמוּנֵיtreasuresשְׂפוּנֵיof the sand.”חוֹל
And of Gadוּלְגָדhe said,אָמַר“Blessed beבָּרוּךְhe who enlargesמַרְחִיבGad.גָּדLike a lionessכְּלָבִיאhe dwells,שָׁכֵןand he tearsוְטָרַףthe armזְרוֹעַand alsoאַףthe crown of the head.קָדְקֹד
He choseוַיַּרְאthe first partרֵאשִׁיתfor himself,לוֹforכִּיthereשָׁםthe portionחֶלְקַתof a commanderמְחֹקֵקwas reserved;סָפוּןand he cameוַיֵּתֵאwith the headsרָאשֵׁיof the people;עָםhe carried outעָשָׂהthe righteousnessצִדְקַתof YHWHיְהוָהand his judgmentsוּמִשְׁפָּטָיוwithעִםIsrael.”יִשְׂרָאֵל
And of Danוּלְדָןhe said,אָמַר“Danדָּןis a lion’sאַרְיֵהcub;גּוּרhe leapsיְזַנֵּקfromמִןBashan.”הַבָּשָׁן
And of Naphtaliוּלְנַפְתָּלִיhe said,אָמַר“Naphtali,נַפְתָּלִיsatisfiedשְׂבַעwith favorרָצוֹןand fullוּמָלֵאof the blessingבִּרְכַּתof YHWH,יְהוָהtake possession ofיְרָשָׁהthe seaיָםand the south.”וְדָרוֹם
And of Asherוּלְאָשֵׁרhe said,אָמַר“Most blessedבָּרוּךְof sonsמִבָּנִיםbe Asher;אָשֵׁרlet him beיְהִיthe favored oneרְצוּיof his brothers,אֶחָיוand let him dipוְטֹבֵלhis footרַגְלוֹin oil.בַּשֶּׁמֶן
Ironבַּרְזֶלand bronzeוּנְחֹשֶׁתbe your bolts,מִנְעָלֶיךָand as your days,וּכְיָמֶיךָso your strength.”דָּבְאֶךָ
“There is noneאֵיןlike El,כָּאֵלJeshurun,יְשֻׁרוּןwho ridesרֹכֵבthe heavensשָׁמַיִםto your help,בְעֶזְרֶךָand in his majestyוּבְגַאֲוָתוֹthe clouds.שְׁחָקִים
A dwelling placeמְעֹנָהis the Elohimאֱלֹהֵיof old,קֶדֶםand underneathוּמִתַּחַתare the eternalעוֹלָםarms.זְרֹעֹתAnd he drove outוַיְגָרֶשׁthe enemyאוֹיֵבfrom before youמִפָּנֶיךָand said,וַיֹּאמֶר‘Destroy!’הַשְׁמֵד
And Israelוַ יִשְׂרָאֵלdwellsיִּשְׁכֹּןin security;בֶּטַחaloneבָּדָדthe fountainעֵיןof Jacob,יַעֲקֹבtowardאֶלa landאֶרֶץof grainדָּגָןand new wine;וְתִירוֹשׁalsoאַףhis heavensשָׁמָיוdripיַעַרְפוּdew.טָל
Happy are you,אַשְׁרֶיךָIsrael!יִשְׂרָאֵלWhoמִיis like you,כָמוֹךָa peopleעַםsavedנוֹשַׁעby YHWH,בַּיהוָהthe shieldמָגֵןof your helpעֶזְרֶךָandוַwhoאֲשֶׁרis the swordחֶרֶבof your majesty?גַּאֲוָתֶךָYour enemiesוְ אֹיְבֶיךָwill cringeיִכָּחֲשׁוּbefore you,לָךְand youוְאַתָּהwill treadתִדְרֹךְonעַלtheir high places.”בָּמוֹתֵימוֹ
