How we translate it

“Said” 50 times, “tell” 6, “told” 4 (“the dream I told before him”, Daniel 4:8), “saying” 3. When the king says something that must be carried out, it keeps “said” (“he said to offer to him an offering”, Daniel 2:46; 3:13) or “gave the word” (Daniel 6:16). As in Hebrew, the repeated formula “answered and said” is kept.
